EVY MAYER

Bio

Evy Mayer sings and plays ukulele, guitar, dumbek and a host of other percussion instruments. She has been involved in folk music since the 1960s, from her first open mike at the Café Wha to her present role as a producer of albums.

 

Evy currently performs with Jean Farnworth as "Double Trouble," and also sings and leads workshops with "The Rounds Galore and More Singers" (Jan Maier and Murray & Randi Spiegel). She also performed with "Triboro" for many years.

She has produced eight albums; "Triboro","Harmony x 3," "Humor Me!", "Rounds Galore... and More Vol. 1, Vol. 2 & Vol. 3" (a companion to the popular book, "Rounds Galore") as well as "Soup To Nuts" and "Born To Shop" (both Double Trouble albums).

Evy was a long-time Board member of the Folk Music Society of New York.

She collects popular songs of the early 1900s, as well as humorous songs, children's music, plus Balkan and other international music. She loves to sing harmony and funny songs, and to folk dance.
